Announcement: JGS of Greater Miami

Posted by Joan Parker

The next meeting of the JGS of Greater Miami will take place on Sunday December 6, 2009 at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation (4200 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL). Call 305-576-4000 for directions. Light refreshments and Free Secure Parking on site. See reminder below.

If you're a former South Florida resident, or current, you probably have warm memories of great Jewish delis, Wolfies, Joe's Stone Crabs, a new glamour hotel on Miami Beach every year, then you don't want to miss our next meeting which will feature author Seth Bramson speaking on his most recent book, "Sunshine, Stone Crabs and Cheesecake." Bramson, a JGS Miami member, has written 16 books, including a book of the Jewish history of the area, "L'Chaim! The History of the Jewish Community of Greater Miami," which details the part early Jewish pioneers played in building the community.

The meeting begins at 10:00 AM am followed by Seth's presentation and our annual Hanukkah celebration, complete with decorations, special treats, and a Hanukkah Party Grab Bag ($5.00). Guest and Members: If bringing a child or children who are certainly welcome, please have a gift for them too so they don't feel left out.

Guests are always welcome. Come and enjoy the morning of genealogy with your fellow researchers. This should be a very informative session. 9:45AM - Early Bird gab and catch-up time. Guests are always welcome. We look forward to seeing you there to share this with us.

A reminder about new security parking regulations: The gate is now permanently closed. On the left is a yellow security box, press #001 to connect to security. Announce you are attending the JGS meeting, the gate will slide open and then close behind you. Have ID.
